New & Noteworthy: Gloucester County's First Makerspace!

The Gloucester County Library System is working on the county's very first open-access Makerspace!

What is a Makerspace, you say?
From the library website:

Quite simply, a Makerspace can be defined as a designated
area supplied with tools, ranging from the very basic to the
latest cutting edge technology in which people of all ages
can gather to learn, socialize, experiment and create.

What an amazing idea!

At this point in the development, the GCLS is looking for volunteers from various STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mechanics for help set up the area and partner with them in a mentorship, partnership, or sponsorship capacity.  Examples include:

Robotics
Textile production (Sergers, Sewing machines, etc.)

Graphic Design
Music and/or Video Production
STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) related Arts and Crafts
Electronics
