So we took our own advice to ask for Memberships to Local Destinations for Christmas this year, and now we are super excited for 2014! Daily Vacation had such an amazing time this past year traveling Greater Philadelphia and letting you know what is out there to enjoy. We're looking forward to a new year with even more to see and do!
After visiting the Philadelphia Museum of Art for the Léger: Modern Art and the Metropolis special exhibit, we realized there was just too much to see and explore with only a handful of trips. So Daily Vacation added the PMA to our list of memberships. As a member we not only get into the Main Building of the PMA and receive discount parking in their parking garage, but we also benefit from FREE admission all year long to the Perelman Building, the Rodin Museum, and the Historical Houses, Mount Pleasant and Cedar Grove in Fairmount Park. We went one level up in membership for the Dual Plus for only $115, so we can bring a guest with us on our adventures.

After purchasing that, we found a fantastic deal for a joint membership between the Camden Children's Garden and the Garden State Discovery Museum. The Garden Combo Membership is $125 (only $10 more than the regular Family Membership Price for the GSDM!). As a member of the GSDM, we also receive FREE admission to the Woodford Cedar Run Wildlife Refuge. As a member of the CCG, we receive FREE or DISCOUNTED admission to other participants in the American Horticultural Society's Reciprocal Program. These Local Destinations are now FREE to us this year: Tyler Arboretum, Winterthur Museum, Garden, and Library, Morris Arboretum, Bartram's Garden, Delaware Center for Horticulture, and University of Delaware Botanical Gardens. Pretty impressive!
As we were choosing our memberships, we tried to think of places that varied throughout the year and would give us many different experiences. With that in mind, we decided to include Longwood Gardens in our collection. Between the ever changing seasons and the huge schedule of events and holiday celebrations, every visit to Longwood Gardens will be a unique one. Along with our membership, we also get $2 off admission to participants in the Explore and Save Program which includes Tyler Arboretum, Winterthur Museum, Garden, and Library, and the Brandywine Zoo (already FREE for Daily Vacation with other memberships), as well as Hagley Museum and Library, Delaware Children's Museum, Delaware Museum of Natural History, Delaware Art Museum, Brandywine River Museum, and the Chester County Historical Society. 
Daily Vacation has already been enjoying our memberships to the Philadelphia Zoo (which gives us half off admission to the Elmwood Park Zoo and FREE admission to the Brandywine Zoo as well as FREE parking for the Philly Zoo) and the Adventure Aquarium (which gives us discounts on Ride the Ducks Philly and a discount on Aquarium parking), so we know how much an annual membership really pays off.
With so many new places to see and exhibits to experience, we're really excited for a whole new year to explore all the Local Destinations around Greater Philadelphia! Here's to 2014 and all that it holds for Daily Vacation!
