Upcoming Events: Christmas with the Philadelphia Orchestra

It's certainly Christmas time in the city, but there's a lot more to listen to than just silver bells in Philly.  Join The Philadelphia Orchestra as they celebrate with beautiful and festive holiday performances.  Daily Vacationer had the opportunity to attend our first Philadelphia Orchestra concert this year, and it was one of the best experiences we've ever had!  We can't say enough how much we think everyone needs to know what it feels like to sit in Verizon Hall in the gorgeous Kimmel Center and hear the amazing sound of the Philadelphia Orchestra.

Begin a new tradition this year by bringing the family to experience A Kids Christmas Spectacular on Saturday, December 13 at 11:30am conducted by Cristian Macelaru.  Arranged for children of all ages and their families to enjoy, the Spectacular includes holiday classics, sing-a-long carols, and even a visit from Santa Claus!  Listen to the festive sounds of the Orchestra while actors and performers bring pieces like The Nutcracker and 'Twas the Night Before Christmas  to life.  A Kids Christmas Spectacular is the perfect way to share the joy of classical music and  performing arts with the whole family.

The memory making continues on December 18th as Bramwell Tovey conducts the Glorious Sounds of Christmas on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday at 7:00pm.  Concert goers will enjoy traditional favorites as well as Tovey's own arrangements and improvisations with 'Twas the Night Before Christmas recited with music as one of the wonderful highlights of the performance.  The cheerful sounds and beautiful music will put everyone in the Christmas spirit and looking forward to hearing it all again next year!
