10 Reasons to Look Forward to Spring and Summer

 
 
Punxsutawney Phil has spoken, and it looks like it's going to be a long winter for Greater Philadelphia.  It can't last forever though, and eventually springtime will come around again.  In the meantime, we can start planning some warm weather fun.  Here are Daily Vacation's 10 reasons that we are looking forward to spring and summer:

Opening again in spring, visitors can return to the Camden Children's Garden to experience various gardens, rides, play areas, and festivals.  Only $6 per person ($4 through Adventure Aquarium entrance), and children two and younger are free.

Lake Kandle will be beginning its 2014 season on May 24th with various swimming areas, play areas, splash park, and much more available to members and their guests.

Arriving back at the Elmwood Park Zoo in May, visitors will once again have the opportunity to feed the giraffes - only $5 for two people! Also be on the lookout for a new Adventure Course set to open this year.

From the middle of June to the end of August, Scotland Run Park offers canoes and kayak rentals for $5 per hour on Wilson Lake.  Paddles and life jackets are included.

In June, the brand new Nicholas and Athena Karabots Pavilion will be opening at the Franklin Institute, becoming the home of exhibits like Your Brain and the location of an additional outdoor area for visitors to enjoy.

Come May, Sahara Sam's Indoor and Outdoor Waterpark will reopen the outside portion of the park, allowing guests to once again hang out in the Splish Splash, Rip n' Roll, and Blue Lagoon.

At the end of May, members and their guests will be able to head back to the fun and relaxation of Knowlton Swim Club and Hidden Hollow Swim Club at Linvilla Orchards to ennjoy various pools and play areas for all ages.

For only $2 for a two hour block of time in July and August, cool off during the months of July and August at the Bridgeton Splash Park (next to the Cohanzick Zoo).

Diggerland USA, a construction-themed adventure park, is slated to open in the beginning of this coming summer in West Berlin, NJ.  It promises to be "Buckets of Fun for Everyone" and is sure to be a big crowd pleaser.

The Firefly Music Festival returns to Dover, DE from June 19th to the 22nd with an amazing line up of bands.
