Dino Week Jr: Delaware Museum of Natural History

The Delaware Museum of Natural History is the only place in the state of Delaware where one can see permanent displays of Dinosaurs.  The Dinosaur Hall is very impressive with full skeletons and many dinosaur fossils and artifacts.  In the back corner of the Museum is the Nature Nook, where kids can enjoy various hands-on experiences from exploring the bat cave and helping frogs swim downstream to coloring and story times.  Friendly staff members assist in demonstrations and fun learning experiences.
Children looking for dinosaurs will be delighted to "dig" for fossils and try to figure out who they belong to just like a real paleontologist.  They can learn more about their favorite dinosaurs in the reading area where books for every reading level are available to explore.  In the back corner of the Nature Nook, kids can meet live animals - including some reptile cousins of the dinosaurs! Ask the assistance of a staff member, and you just might get to touch and interact with some of these amazing creatures.
The gift shop is filled with dinosaur toys and gear for every age.  Pick out your favorite plush dinosaur or purchase a book or puzzle to take the experience home with you!
Daily Vacation did not find our plush Haddy here, but there was lots of other fantastic dinosaur items to choose from.  Stay tuned to DINO WEEK Jr to see where we got him!
